SUMMARY:Tomahawk Throwing Course (Bibby's)
DESCRIPTION:This course will teach the basics and safety for running successful Tomahawk throwing sessions for young people.\nThe course runs at Bibbys Farm on our tomahawk throwing range and will concentrate on running sessions with “angel axes” but will also touch on other equipment such as hatchets & tomahawks. \nThe course will start at 2pm and run until 5pm. \nIn addition to the course\, we will also offer each participant the opportunity to visit site for future personal practise and development sessions included in the price or even carry on practising over the weekend if the range is available. \nTo achieve the Scout requirements for this activity\, a further 4 hours of personal practise is required and we will stamp your card until you have completed the additional hours.\nTo ensure the training is still fresh\, this is limited to 6 months following the date of the course. \nOn successful completion\, a certificate of attendance will be presented and this will allow holders to run their own sessions at Bibbys Farm in the future without the need or expense of needing an instructor. \nThe session will run regardless of the weather so please dress appropriately.

SUMMARY:Bibby's Music Fest 2023
DESCRIPTION:Fancy a festival but put off by the hundreds of pounds price tag? \nFollowing the hugely successful event in 2022\, we’re repeating the experience for all Scouts\, Explorers and Network and also Guides and Rangers. \nStarting at Noon on the Saturday\, our large outdoor stage rig will host multiple bands and acts throughout the day and our festival arena will be surrounded with tents providing bases such as face painting\, henna tattoos\, hair braiding and so on. \nCatering will be available and your VIP Pass will include your evening meal. \nThe day finishes with our headline act and a massive paint party. \nThis really is one event you don’t want to miss. \nInvolved with a band? Why not get in touch to come and perform? \nNew for 2023\nDue to the popularity of the event last year\, we have now added a day visit option for ALL ages\, (Beavers\, Cubs etc) to come for just the day.\nParticipants will receive a wristband that allows them into the arena from Noon up until evening meal time. That way they’ll get all the bands in the afternoon and access to the festival bases such as face painting etc but won’t be included in the evening\, paint party or camping.\nDay visit wristbands can also choose to stay for the evening meal if they choose at an additional fee.

SUMMARY:Bibby's Farm - D of E Gold Residential
DESCRIPTION:Bibbys Farm has many volunteers and they have run the site since it first opened.\nAs a part of this\, we can now offer a formalised way of volunteering as a part of your D-of-E Gold Residential. \nYou will join us for the week of the 10th July 2023 to at least the 15th July. This is a Monday to Saturday.\nAlong with others\, you will stay in our Bunkhouse and all your food and drink is included. Living with the rest of the team is all a part of the experience and it will include playing your part in cooking and cleaning as well as project work each day. \nOn the final Saturday\, we are also hosting our annual Music Festival. In return for your hard work\, we’ll provide you with a free Backstage Pass to join the Festival as one of our Crew helping with the run-up to the event and the event itself. Staying until the end of the Saturday will count for your residential but we’ll also provide continued accommodation for those who wish to party until late and stay over until the Sunday. \nHere’s the detail from D-of-E about residentials: \nFor your Residential section you need to undertake a shared activity or specific course with people you don’t know\, in a residential setting away from home and in an unfamiliar environment. Evenings are often as much a part of the experience as daytime activities. \nThis section offers a high degree of flexibility but it must be done with an organised group\, registered charity or Approved Activity Provider. You must join it individually and not with an existing group of friends or as part of a school or youth group trip. You will be staying away – anything from an activity centre or camp to a boat or barge – but you cannot stay with friends or relatives. \nThere are no age restrictions on who you can do your residential activity with\, for example\, a conservation project has volunteers of all ages on it – you may even be the only person under 25 or doing your DofE. \nYour activity can be anything that provides you with an opportunity for broadening your interests and experiences. It is ideal for trying something new or it can be related to existing interests or activities followed in other sections of your DofE programme.

SUMMARY:Bibby's Farm - Cub Adventure Challenge Badge
DESCRIPTION:Our Cub Adventure Challenge is a full day of activities for Cub Scouts aimed at gaining all sections of the badge. \nBring along a packed lunch and spend the day travelling around the various bases to try out lots of new skills and adventures. \nWe will present the badges to all participants or their leaders at the end of the day. \nPLEASE NOTE\nOne of the requirements for this badge is to go on a hike or follow a trail for 1 to 2 hours. As this would be difficult to cover on the day\, all participants are asked to cover this at some time before the event so by the time the day finishes\, they will have earned the badge in full.\nFor any groups that can’t manage this\, we will still provide the badges for the leaders to present once the Cubs have completed this additional requirement of the badge at a later date. \nNumbers are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

SUMMARY:Bibby's Farm - Northern Comfort
DESCRIPTION:Following last year’s fantastic event\, we’re putting on our Northern Comfort 2022 with a very similar format. \nThe event is “Adults Only” and the only booking for that weekend so you can relax\, away from the kids and enjoy the activities and entertainment with other like-minded adults. \nDuring the day\, with your help\, we are looking to put on loads of different bases and training & assessment opportunities where adult leaders can try out new things and cover some learning modules either formal ones or informal training along the likes of Scouting Skills\, workshops on running games\, different styles of flagbreaks and much more. We will also be running taster sessions on all our activities and we are seeking suppliers to attend to showcase their wares too. \nIn the evenings\, the Courtyard becomes the entertainment hub\, we will have a licensed real ale bar and a stage with live entertainment on both nights included in the event package. \nCome and camp or you can even upgrade and have a bed indoors for a slightly higher price.\nWe are offering a pre-booked meal service at reasonable prices where you can book breakfasts\, lunches and evening meal. \nThe whole ethos of the weekend is for Scouters & Guiders from all over the region to come together for a fun weekend away from their Beavers\, Cubs & Scouts for a change. To try out some new activities\, learn some new skills\, swap ideas with fellow leaders and have a darn good time whilst doing so. \nThis is YOUR weekend for you to enjoy\, make sure you get your best Scouting friends to come along too.
