Being an Explorer
When you join Explorers, you’ll be introduced to lots of new activities, people and things.

Badges & Awards
Become an expert in something you love, or try something shiny and new. Completing Badges & Awards lets you do more, learn more and be more. See what’s on offer and start your journey to the top.

Young Leaders Scheme
When you join Explorers, you’ll be introduced to lots of new activities, people and things.

The Duke Of Edinburgh’s Award
Undertaking their DofE gives young people the opportunity to experience new activities or develop existing skills.
West Lancs Scouts are proud to be a provider of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and we actively encourage our young people to partake in the award alongside the Chief Scouts Awards.
Explorer Promise
Every Explorer is unique, but they find common ground in their shared Scout values, and make a promise to stick by them.
Making a promise when you join the Unit is a way of celebrating these values.

Uniform
You don’t need a uniform to join. But once you’ve settled in, you’ll start speedily earning badges, and you’ll need to know where to put them! Buy your uniform from the our Scout store and you’ll be supporting Local Scouts!

Scouts and employability
How to tell others about the skills you’ve learned through Scouts, Explorers, and Network.

Explorer leaders
All of our leaders are trained volunteers, working to make sure Scouting is safe and open to all. Some lead the Colony week in and week out. Others visit occasionally to help run a session or drop in to share their skills. No matter how much time you have to spare, find out about volunteering on your own terms.
Moving up to Network
Eventually, it’ll be time to say farewell to Beavers and embrace your next big adventure.
