Converging World

Avon Scouts and Bristol charity ‘The Converging World’ set to launch a new resource for Scouts across the globe   

In collaboration with Avon Scouts the Converging World team have developed an activity pack for Scouts which is intended to help them learn about climate change and social inequality in a fun and engaging way.

The Converging World (TCW) is a Bristol based charity that aims to inspire change. TCW uses donations to invest in renewable energy in developing countries. Our current project is a wind farm in Tamil Nadu, Southern India. The profits from these investments are used to fund more renewable energy and to support climate change adaptation and sustainable development projects around the world.

The Scout pack includes a number of activities for all the different Scouting ages to enjoy. From word searches, quizzes, hosting an Indian themed evening to actually building your own wind turbine!

We hope the pack will be something Scouts can use to aid their learning and understanding about different cultures, the effects of climate change on people living here in the UK and in India, renewable energy, social inequality and perhaps most importantly the big difference that small actions can and do make
